14 useful tips for choosing an installation for a wall-hung toilet

A wall-hung toilet can be installed in almost any bathroom; it doesn’t even require a solid wall. Selecting an installation depending on technical conditions is not a problem; manufacturers take into account various nuances. Prices vary widely, and the popular belief that a wall-hung toilet is insanely expensive is a misconception. But so that the installation and use of such plumbing does not darken your life, it is worth understanding its structure.

Why choose a wall-hung toilet

When making renovations in a bathroom or toilet, the consumer is necessarily faced with the question of choosing the type of toilet: a wall-hung toilet

or
a traditional floor-mounted toilet with a cistern
. Thanks to our mentality, we like to stick to time-tested classics and often reject innovation and modern trends. Moreover, wall-hung toilets in the post-Soviet space still do not account for even half of total toilet sales. Please note the following fact: according to various estimates, from 80% to 90% of toilet sales in the European Union are wall-hung toilets. And this indicates a significant lag and indicates the path to catching up the existing difference. In the meantime, the numbers speak for themselves and there are certain reasons for this.

All the benefits of wall-hung toilets can be defined quite briefly:

  • • space saving,
  • • hygiene,
  • • noise reduction,
  • • easy to clean.

However, the purpose of this review is not to determine the benefits of wall-hung toilets. We want to give an extended answer to the question: what is important to pay attention to when choosing an installation for a wall-hung toilet when purchasing

.

Choice by price/quality ratio

So, the design of a wall-hung toilet itself is impossible without the use of an installation for a wall-hung toilet

, because is an integral part of the wall-hung toilet.

First of all, we would like to draw your attention to the difference in the approach to choosing between a toilet and an installation. A wall-hung toilet is a ceramic product and to select it, it is important to pay attention to the quality of enamel, clay, shape geometry, design and color. And the installation for a wall-hung toilet is primarily a mechanical product with moving parts

from steel, plastic, rubber, up to brass and bronze parts.
This is a mechanism that is subject to external influences. Consequently, here the criteria of quality and durability become more relevant
. This is where you need to pay attention to the difference in cost between models and understand what you need to pay for and how to qualitatively choose the option you need.

The principle “cheap cannot be good” when purchasing an installation is more relevant than ever.

— Tip #1

The best manufacturers of wall-hung sanitary ware

The most popular brands that produce installations for toilets include Turkish Vitra , Spanish Roca , Polish Cersanit , famous German companies TECE , Viega , Grohe , Russian brand IDDIS , famous Swiss brand Geberit , Dutch company WiSA Exellent , Italian Migliore , Czech Alcaplast .

According to user surveys on specialized forums, installations for toilets from the Swiss company Geberit are of the best quality, providing a number of useful functions, for example, eliminating unpleasant odors

Based on surveys of participants in specialized forums, the following five best manufacturers of suspended structures were determined:

  • The first place was taken by Geberit , which produces installation systems with a unique seamless tank.
  • The second was shared by Grohe / Viega .
  • The third went to the German manufacturer TECE .
  • Cersanit and Wisa settled on the fourth .
  • Fifth place was taken by the budget brand Alcaplast .

In addition to the durability and quality of the products, respondents also paid attention to the design of the models, in particular, the beauty of the buttons. In their opinion, panels produced by Tece , Geberit and Vierga .

When purchasing plumbing equipment, it is important to remember that even high-quality devices can fail due to factors such as improper installation, poor water quality, and violation of operating rules.

What you should pay attention to when choosing an installation

What weight can the installation bear?

When you decide to buy an installation for a wall-hung toilet, you may immediately wonder whether such a structure can withstand the weight of the toilet itself along with a person.

Specialized European manufacturers produce modern installations that can withstand up to 400 kg of load

.
— Tip #2

Wall hung toilet installations have become widespread since the 1960s and technology is evolving every day. By distributing the load from the toilet to a person, the main part of the load is distributed to the installation supports located on the floor. European manufacturers even organized special marketing events at the stage of popularizing wall-hung toilets. A car was installed on the installation with wall-hung toilets, elephants were planted (these old advertising campaigns can be found on YouTube), so that the consumer could buy an installation with a wall-hung toilet with peace of mind and not worry about the reliability of the design.

Please note that the main load on the installation falls on the lower supports, and the installation itself is attached to the wall.

A prerequisite is a wall thickness of at least half a brick or another wall material equivalent to the strength of a 1/2 brick wall.

— Tip #3

How to access the internal parts of the mechanism after installation

Another fear that a buyer of an installation may have concerns access to the insides of the tank mechanism itself. Will you have to break into the wall if a stone somehow gets into the water pipe?

The dimensions and design of the internal installation mechanisms are specially designed for easy access.

— Tip #4

The answer is very simple - modern manufacturers have thought of everything in such a way that access to the heart of the installation - the tank - is easy - through the hole in the flush key

. All internal parts (drain mechanism, filling mechanism, valves) are specially designed so that they can always be accessed and replaced if necessary.

What is important in the installation body

In a high-quality installation, you will always receive a steel frame, automatically coated with paint that can resist corrosion. After all, the installation for a wall-hung toilet will be installed behind a wall and will be hidden from your eyes for at least 20 years.

Any Alcaplast buttons can be used; the set includes the necessary fasteners.

What to look for when choosing an installation tank

When choosing an installation, also pay attention to the tank body.

In higher-quality installations, the tank is made of plastic and is solid, and also lined with foam plastic.

— Tip #5

In cheaper versions, the plastic tank is a vessel welded in two parts. This is less reliable compared to a one-piece tank.

Also in a high-quality installation you will find a tank lined with foam plastic. This is not made for transportation - do not tear off this foam under any circumstances.

It performs 2 important functions:

  1. 1) reduces the noise level when filling the tank with water;
  2. 2) protects the tank from condensation due to temperature differences.

Typically, the difference in temperature between cold water and the space around the installation is more than 10 degrees Celsius. And this can cause corrosion or create conditions for the development of microorganisms and fungi.

Pay attention to the installation fittings

Another factor to consider when deciding on the choice of installation is the material from which the fittings and other connecting elements are made.

High-quality and durable fittings will contain brass or bronze, while cheap analogues will contain stainless steel and other cheaper materials (even powder steel).

— Tip #6

And this will definitely affect the trouble-free life of the installation and wall-hung toilet.

Description of individual models of installations for wall-mounted toilets

Each of the configurations described here has a unique structure that must be taken into account. The equipment will be inaccessible after complete installation, so it must be secured with special care. Naturally, all elements must have strong fastenings. High-quality models are a guarantee of long-term use without repair.

Now let’s look at individual installations, their descriptions and reviews from specialists and customers who managed to try them both during installation and during operation. You need to know that there are no ideal models. Choose them according to your taste, taking into account the conditions in which the structure will serve.

Cersanit DELFI Leon (Kersanit Delphi Leon) is a set of frame installation and wall-hung toilet, made in Poland. Compared to other models, this is a cheap option for equipment. Some manufacturers offer more expensive models without a toilet. Despite the cheapness, the kit has earned many positive reviews. Without repairs, the installation lasts an average of 6 years. The disadvantages include the following qualities of the model:

  • elements cannot be replaced after wear;
  • the drain control may become stuck;
  • fastenings are not suitable for all types of walls;
  • The pipes connecting the cistern and the toilet are made of plastic, which is less wear-resistant compared to, for example, metal.

Experts consider this model to be economical.

GRONE Rapid SL is a frame installation made in Germany. The package does not include a toilet. The 113 cm high frame is supplied with fasteners and a drain control device. Compared to the previous one, this is a more expensive model. The metal frame is coated with a compound that prevents the formation of rust and fungus. On counterfeits, unlike the real model, the company logo is not affixed. It can be seen on all the main parts of the structure.

The positive properties of the model include:

  • excellent product quality;
  • long service life and fastening strength;
  • ease of assembly and installation;
  • The manufacturer provides the model with a five-year warranty.

The disadvantages include:

  • the need to purchase a separate toilet;
  • high cost of the model compared to other types;
  • the presence on the market of a huge number of fakes for this model.

TESE is an installation without a frame-type toilet, made in Germany. Provided with two drainage options with complete emptying of the tank and one third of it. The tank has a dual flush. The pipes at the junction points are additionally equipped with rubber cuffs. The structure reaches a height of 112 cm. Both users and repair specialists respond well to this installation.

The advantages include the following qualities:

  • silent filling of the tank with water;
  • the drain control works smoothly;
  • model parts are easy to find and replace in case of wear or damage;
  • the equipment can be disassembled and accessed to any part of it;
  • The manufacturer provides the design with a ten-year warranty.

There is only one drawback of the model - the need to buy a toilet separately from the installation.

Geberit Duofix AP 320 frame model, made in Switzerland, with a flush control device that provides two modes. The structure is 112 cm high. An average-priced installation without a toilet. This design can be used in rooms where no other design is suitable. The fact is that the kit includes long pins, 5 decimeters long, with which the structure can be suspended even despite the presence of obstacles when approaching the wall.

The positive qualities of this model include:

  • flawless assembly;
  • durability during operation;
  • ease of installation;
  • replaceability of parts;
  • The manufacturer guarantees the model's service life up to 10 years.

If this can be called a disadvantage, then the installation has only one - the need to purchase a toilet.

WISA 8050 (Visa) - frame-type installation, made in Holland, complete with wall-hung toilet, tank, bowl seat, flush control, fastenings, gasket for soundproofing equipment. The height of the model varies from 118 to 138 cm. This model is distinguished by its reliability. The installation frame is difficult to secure due to its massiveness. High-quality installation will provide the owner of the equipment with flawless operation for a long time.

The positive qualities of this model include:

  • the included cover is equipped with a special lowering and lifting device;
  • simplicity of design
  • you can choose a model for the wall and, if necessary, for the corner;
  • The model can be adjusted in height, which makes operation very comfortable.

Despite the unique positive properties of the model, there are the following disadvantages:

  • high cost of the product;
  • installation is difficult due to the massive structure; the kit does not include instructions that are easy to understand;
  • there is no access to individual parts, which makes the model inconvenient for repair;
  • If it wears out or needs replacement, it is almost impossible to find a part for this.

Jika Zeta (Jika Zeta) is a set of installation and wall-hung toilet made in the Czech Republic. It has an oval shape. The tank provides dual flush. There are two possible flushing options using the control device. The kit includes a sufficient number of fasteners. The lid together with the seat is equipped with a lifting and lowering device. The installation is attached to the wall.

There are approximately the same number of positive and negative reviews about this design. After analyzing them, it becomes clear that they depend on the quality of the installation.

The positive properties of the design include:

  • the presence of a wall-hung toilet included;
  • device reliability;
  • instant filling of the flush tank;
  • comparative cheapness of the model.

The disadvantages include:

  • in case of self-assembly, leakage is possible at the joints of parts;
  • sometimes the flush control gets stuck;
  • poor quality gaskets must be immediately replaced with others;
  • many complaints about flushing;
  • the presence of counterfeits on the market for this type of product.

The quality of this model depends on the correct fastening of the frame and other parts and the choice of a Czech-made model and not a fake.

Roca Debba (Roca Debba) installation kit with a wall-hung toilet made in Spain. The tank has a dual flush feature. The seat with lid is equipped with a lowering and raising device. The kit includes a sufficient number of fasteners.

The model, like the previous one, has equally positive and negative reviews. Negative ones also arise when the structure is poorly secured and in cases of purchasing counterfeit products. Therefore, it is better to carry out installation by specialists, and when purchasing, check the documents from the manufacturer. With the same name there may be fakes made in Germany, Poland and China.

The advantages of this model include the following properties:

  • beautiful exterior;
  • comfortable sitting;
  • impeccable drainage, silent and of sufficient quality;
  • the ability to control the intensity of drainage using a special device;
  • ease of care;
  • prevent water from entering outside the toilet.

Negative aspects of the model:

  • in devices of this brand there are seat lifts made of metal or plastic; you should choose the first ones, since plastic ones wear out quickly;
  • The lid is always made of plastic; there have been cases of its premature destruction.

Summarizing everything that has been said about individual installation models, it is necessary to note that it is imperative to carefully study the reviews of certain designs by both specialist assemblers and buyers. This is the only way to get an objective opinion and not make a mistake in your choice.

If the kit does not include a wall-hung toilet, it becomes necessary to purchase it separately. In order not to make a mistake in your choice, you need to know some secrets, which will be discussed below.

How to choose a flush button

Another mechanism that is present in the installation is the flush key, which directly activates the flush mechanism. Traditionally, the flush button has 2 keys for a large and a small flush, which allow you to rationally address the issue of water consumption.

Speaking of mechanisms, all time-tested installations from the best manufacturers use a mechanical drive for the flush valve.

— Tip #7

There were attempts to use an alternative drive - pneumatic, but this was just a marketing ploy to advertise an alternative sensation when pressing a key. As a result, in operation the mechanics proved to be an unreliable mechanism.

It is also worth noting that the flush button is the face of the installation, the part that is always visible. From reputable manufacturers you can always find a wide variety of different materials (plastic, glass, metal) and appearance. The right flush design will become an elegant element in the overall bathroom concept.

Manufacturers of quality products usually offer 2 options for choosing a flush button: it is proposed to buy a separate installation and a separate button (choosing the design you like) or buy a ready-made installation kit that includes the most popular and universal flush buttons. Such options are traditionally offered in two colors - white and chrome. Moreover, the color chrome usually accounts for about 90% of sales. Chrome almost always fits universally into a bathroom concept.

Often, customers, studying the buttons in our showrooms, pay attention to traces of fingerprints remaining on the chrome surface and conclude that this will happen even after installation in the bathroom. It's a delusion. Flush buttons presented in showrooms are touched daily in places that are not used during operation. In life, everything happens differently. During operation, only the moving parts of the flush buttons come into contact with your fingers and, therefore, fingerprints cease to be a problem.

The variety of installation flush buttons is also complemented by anti-vandal solutions or touch keys

, which prevent contact with the surface of the flush button. But these solutions are more often used in public places. An example of such a solution is the flush key below.

New! Flush button that is installed flush with the tiles. This option goes well with ceramic tiles.

— Tip #8

An interesting innovation in the field of flush buttons in recent years is the appearance of special frames,

which allow you
to install the flush button flush with the tiles
. This way the flush button will be in the same plane as the tile and will not “stick out”. This creates an interesting and unique design and is popular with people who appreciate modern design ideas.

You can find out more about such buttons in our review.

How it works?

In the case of a frame installation device, the drain tank is installed in the upper part of the structure. In the front part of the device there is a hole for connecting communications. A system of suitable pipes ensures the flow of water and its discharge. The plumbing is connected to the water supply using the side holes on the tank, to which an adapter is connected. This device fits into multiple slots, allowing you to change its position as needed.

There is a valve inside the tank to supply liquid or stop its flow. The flexible connection device provides connection between the valve and the shut-off mechanism (float valve). In the cavity of the tank there are also mechanisms for adjusting the drainage and devices for protecting the system from excessive drainage of water. The drain outlet is connected to an additional socket in the tank.

The suspension system works according to the principle of the traditional version. When you press the water release button at the base of the tank, the valve rises - water leaves the tank and pours into the toilet bowl. The lever returns to its original position, and the valve lowers under the pressure of water and its own weight. When the button is stationary, no water leakage occurs. After closing the valve and emptying the tank, the automatic tank filling device is activated.

When the tank is empty, the float lowers, opening the valve. Through the resulting hole, water flows into the tank. As the vessel fills, the beacon rises. As soon as the float reaches the critical upper point, the hole closes and the flow of water stops. The plumbing is at rest until the button is pressed, then the cycle repeats.

Dual-mode tanks operate similarly to a full-flush system. A special feature of such a system is the ability to regulate the opening of the valve. Not all the water flows into the bowl, but only a given portion. Economical drainage reduces fluid consumption.

Traditional toilet design and installation are prone to breakdowns. The most common problem is a faulty tank. Heavy water clogs the reservoir valves and reduces the rate of water flow into the bowl. Sediment on the filter in the inlet valve causes the liquid to take a long time to fill the tank. To return the system to working condition, it is necessary to dismantle the tank and clean the valves.

The filters have a mesh structure. Over time, the cells are filled with fractions formed as a result of the interaction of the mechanism with heavy water. It is necessary to clean carefully with a soft brush. To do this, you do not need to purchase a special device - you can use a toothbrush. It is recommended to wash the filter several times.

A breakdown of the valve at the inlet to the tank will lead to a decrease in the rate of water flow into the tank. In some cases, the cover may simply become warped. The valve position can be adjusted by applying pressure to a suitable metal lever. The connection between the float and the valve is often broken - such a system does not work smoothly. The valve hole must be washed, the position of the float and cover must be adjusted.

A rubber gasket is adjacent to the valve on one side. Dirt can accumulate on it, which negatively affects water circulation. To disconnect the rubber and wash it, you need to loosen the valve.

It is not recommended to completely disassemble the device, since the assembly diagram of the structure is quite complex. The removed gasket is cleaned and the valve is washed. The system is then assembled and the installation can be put into operation.

Loss of communication between the valves and the button leads to a malfunction of the structure. In this case, the button will not start the system - the water will not drain. A breakdown occurs when the drain fittings malfunction. To eliminate the malfunction, it is necessary to completely dismantle the system and replace it with a new device. Instrument suppliers can assist with the installation of replacement parts.

If water flows into the bowl without stopping, but in a small stream, then the rubber gasket on the drain valve must be replaced. Old rubber is unable to seal the hole hermetically, so leakage occurs. During prolonged use, the valve cover may become deformed, which may also cause fluid leakage. To eliminate the damage, it is necessary to replace not only the gasket, but also the valve mechanism.

The emergency tube, designed to eliminate excess fluid, may drop over time. Changing the design will cause leakage. Uncontrolled drainage of water is a signal to repair the inlet valve and float.

There are several solutions to this problem. First, you can pick up the phone. Secondly, with the help of screws it is possible to lower the float. These measures will significantly lower the fluid level in the tank and normalize the operation of the system.

Most leaks can be fixed by replacing the rubber gasket. Some modern models of polymer tanks do not provide for a gasket - the inlet valve is a monolithic structure. To eliminate leaks, it is necessary to completely replace the valves.

Adjusting the installation height of a wall-hung toilet

Traditionally, installation kits are height adjustable only through the supports. It is worth noting that the European standard for the installation height of a wall-hung toilet from the floor is 43 cm

(similar to conventional floor-standing toilets with a cistern). This installation height can be achieved with any high-quality European installation. The supports themselves are usually made of either steel or plastic.

Installation supports made of steel or plastic break during installation due to inexperience or excessive force of the installer.

— Tip #9

Both materials are reliable in terms of operation. But there is a problem with plastic supports in the domestic market. Plumbers who began their careers back in the USSR, due to inexperience, apply excessive force during installation and break the plastic fasteners.

Dimensions

Modern installations have a universal device; they are suitable for toilets and other hygienic appliances of various brands.

The usual standard dimensions of frame devices are as follows:

  • Width 0.5 m;
  • Height 1.12 m (plus space for supports);
  • Depth 0.1-0.15 m.

The sizes of block installations are slightly different:

  • Width 0.5 m;
  • Height 0.78-1 m;
  • Depth 0.1-0.30 m.

Compatibility of installation and wall-hung toilet

When buying an installation for a wall-hung toilet, you will definitely ask about compatibility when installing a wall-hung toilet on it. Rest assured, there is only one important parameter - the center distance between the toilet mounts.

There are only 2 standards: 18 and 23 cm

for center distance.
At the same time, the size 18 cm occupies 97% of the market in the CIS countries. — Tip #10

Any more or less high-quality installation for a wall-hung toilet is standardly prepared for installing a toilet with an interaxial distance of 18 and 23 cm. Therefore, there is no need to worry about this issue.

Reinforcement: invisible but important components

Fittings are attached to the installation: tank, pipes and other parts.

Despite the fact that some parts are hidden behind the false panel, they are also important for the long, reliable service of the wall-hung toilet

All components must be made of especially durable polymers or metal with an anti-corrosion coating. The button can be connected to the sewer fittings using a pneumatic device, a lever or a cable, with preference given to the first two mechanical methods.

Why is a rimless toilet better?

Speaking about compatibility in the operation of the installation, it is impossible not to touch upon the topic of rim and rimless wall-hung toilets. This topic deserves a separate review.

Rimless wall hung toilets have a modified bowl in the area of the traditional rim,

they do not have it, and the surface
is completely enameled
. But in rimless toilets, the surface of the rim is not enameled.

Rimless toilets make cleaning easier, improve hygiene and reduce water consumption by changing the flow of water when flushing.

— Tip #11

The flow, due to greater intensity, accelerates and results in less water consumption. This was the main prerequisite for the invention of rimless toilets. Since 2012, ceramic manufacturers began to introduce their production. As of March 2021, almost all European ceramic manufacturers offer rimless wall-hung toilets, and some top brands have already discontinued regular rimless toilets.

The key point in the compatibility of the installation and the toilet is the correct regulation of the water flow.

— Tip #12

Often, after installing the installation and wall-hung rimless toilet, the consumer is faced with the problem that when flushing, water splashes out of the toilet onto the floor.

This problem is precisely caused by a change in the direction of water flow in a rimless toilet, and the intensity of the flow of water released plays a key role here. This problem is compounded by the variety of shapes and design options for wall-hung rimless toilets. Consequently, installation settings to regulate flush volume and water flow rate, which were standard 10 years ago, can lead to water splashing out onto the floor.

There are solutions to this problem! Some manufacturers sell additional accessories - adjusting rings or a flush speed reducer.

A flush speed reducer or adjusting rings allow, by narrowing the drain manifold, to reduce the flow rate of water supplied from the installation.

— Tip #13

Therefore, when purchasing an installation and a rimless toilet, you should clarify in advance whether the installation is equipped with a flush flow rate regulator.

Speaking of saving water, almost all manufacturers of installations provide the possibility of large and small flushes, implemented by two keys on the flush panel. Also, the best manufacturers provide regulation of the volume of water used for large and small flushes.

The standard settings are 4.5/9 liters small/large flush. When using a wall-hung rimless toilet, it is considered sufficient to reduce the standard flush volume by 2 times, i.e. 2.5/4.5 liters.

What to do if you need a non-standard installation

When choosing installations, you can see special models that can be used in non-standard conditions:

  • • Installations for installation in a corner;
  • • Low installations with a height of 82 cm (standard height 113 cm).

Models are specially developed for applications where conventional installation is not possible. For example, in low installations there are options for installing a flush button either traditionally from the front or from above

, above the installation plane.
It should be noted that the minimum installation thickness is 12-13 cm, but there are special modifications with a thickness of 8 cm
, which allow you to save precious centimeters in small spaces.
There are also free-standing installations and installations for installation in artificial partitions
.

One important fact should be noted: all non-standard installation options for wall-hung toilets are much more expensive than traditional ones

and the most popular models, which is explained by a significant difference in the production run, and this greatly affects the cost of the final product.

Example of low installation implementation

Type of construction and method of fastening

The type of installation system and the method of its fastening depends on where the entire weight of the structure can be transferred.

Block installation systems

If you have the opportunity to attach the installation to a permanent wall, then you need a block installation system. This system is attached directly to the wall using anchor bolts and is suspended.

Frame installation systems

These are more complex systems that are installed on the floor. Therefore, the entire load in this case will be transferred not to the wall, but to the floor. This allows the use of such frames in various false walls and hollow partitions made of plasterboard. In addition, such systems allow you to adjust the installation height of the device within 20 cm, which is very convenient, because it makes it possible to install the toilet at the required distance.

Additional functions of the installation

Another option associated with the flush button is a special magnetic frame for the flush button, where a container for water disinfectant tablets is located

. Due to the magnetic design, access to the container through the button will be quite easy, and the disinfectant tablets themselves will increase the hygiene of the bathroom and freshen the air.

One of the interesting marketing moves of installation manufacturers is the function of exhaust ventilation through the flush hole

.
Manufacturers implement this functionality in different ways - one option is to add an exhaust fan, controller and carbon filter to the installation
.
Operating principle: the air passed through the filter is returned back to the room. Another manufacturer may have a different implementation - the flush elbow of the installation is supplemented with a special outlet pipe, which can be connected to the general ventilation system
. This solution is much cheaper, but requires an additional connection to the general ventilation system. This air purification function is found in modern shower lids and shower toilets, where it and a special filter are included as standard.

Features of choice related to installation location and installation size

Before you start choosing a specific installation model in a store, you must find out where it will be installed.

Conventionally, the following installation dimensions can be distinguished:

  • Standard;
  • Low;
  • Bilateral;
  • Corner;
  • For installation in line.

Standard installation - suitable for installation in rooms with no size restrictions

A standard installation for a toilet is suitable when in a room or next to a bathroom, there are no restrictions on overall dimensions and installation depth. As a rule, it has the following dimensions (+/-): width 50 cm, installation depth 12 cm and installation height 112 cm.

Most often used in standard apartments with small bathrooms. In this case, there is no need to pay attention to the overall dimensions of the installation. You can see a standard size photo of the installation above, where we looked at the installation device.

Low installation - installation with limited height

In some types of apartment buildings or other premises, it becomes necessary to install an installation with a height limitation. Most often this happens due to a low window sill, when installed under a window, or the design features of the room. For such cases, most manufacturers produce special, “low-rise” frames, the height of which is no more than 82 cm. Thanks to this parameter, you can use toilet installations even in all sorts of difficult cases, when there is not enough free space.

Double-sided installation system

Often, shopping centers and office buildings require the installation of double-sided installations. For this case, most manufacturers also have a solution in stock - integrated design systems. The bowls themselves are located on different sides.

Corner installation

Difficulties often arise when it is necessary to install a toilet in a corner of a room. This situation can be resolved in two ways: use a special corner type mount or purchase special corner modules.

For in-line installation

Sometimes it is necessary to combine several plumbing fixtures on one wall. For example, in addition to a wall-hung toilet, fix a bidet and/or a urinal and arrange it all in one line. For these purposes, there are also special installation systems.

Since the choice of devices of the type in question today is very large, problems usually do not arise when selecting a specific design. You just need to try to take into account all possible installation features of devices of the type in question. This will greatly reduce the time required for this process, as well as avoid various types of problems.

Let's sum it up

Please take into account the fact that the installation of the toilet bowl and flush key occurs only after tiling. Installation of the installation is a rough job and always occurs at the beginning of the renovation. Therefore, it is advisable to immediately know which model of wall-hung toilet will be installed on the installation

.
But by choosing a high-quality European manufacturer, you will gain confidence in the technical compatibility of the products and fine-tuning the operation of the installation units and wall-hung toilet
.

Based on the experience of retail sales of the Von Tann

, experience as a wholesale supplier to hotels, multifunctional centers, public places, we recommend such brands as reliable, high-quality, specialized manufacturers of installations:

Self-installation rules

The process of installing an installation system is not a simple task. If you already have experience in installing such structures, then you can try installing this system, the main thing is to do everything slowly and calculate everything in advance. A few tips for installing a wall-hung toilet yourself:

  • The recommended installation is that the distance between the floor and the top edge of the toilet is 40 cm. Manufacturers offer such indicators, but it is better to take into account the needs of all family members so that in the future there will be no discomfort when using the toilet
  • To be able to get to the internal structure of the system during a breakdown, it is necessary to place the flush button in the center of the upper half of the tank.
  • After installation, finishing work is carried out. If tiles are used, they must be laid out from the center of the drain button to the edges of the system. Do not place the flush button on the seams between the tiles
  • Manufacturers advise that when installing a mechanical flush button, the thickness of the supporting wall should be no more than 6 cm.

Sequence of work
Having studied the main nuances during installation, you can proceed to installation, which takes place in several stages: installing the kit, connecting to the water supply, hiding communications and finishing the wall. The installation order will be as follows:

  1. Supplying water and drain pipe to the installation
  2. Fastening the installation itself to the wall or to the floor and wall using powerful anchors
  3. Attaching the cistern to the frame and connecting it to communications
  4. Installing the toilet bowl on the frame, connecting it to the sewer pipe using corrugation
  5. Connection between cistern and toilet bowl
  6. Checking the functionality of the toilet
  7. Removing the bowl from its place
  8. Final connection of all pipes and bends
  9. Formation of a false panel
  10. Installing a flush button
  11. Final wall finishing
  12. Securing the toilet bowl to the installation system

The installation procedure is simple, but it will require time and effort, so it is better to call a specialist, having previously discussed all the details and wishes with him before installation.

PS

And one more piece of advice: often plumbers, without even asking clients, independently choose the installation to install based on their own interests. It’s good when a plumber installs high-quality installations. But very often the opposite happens.
